Clarity and Ooma align to deliver an integrated telephone experience for boomers and seniors

LAS VEGAS, NV - Thursday, January 6th, 2011

Ooma, Inc., a leading provider of HD-quality free home phone service, together with Clarity®, a division of Plantronics (NYSE: PLT) and a leading provider of communications solutions for boomers and seniors, today announced an integrated phone solution featuring Clarity phones and the Ooma Telo to meet unique needs while saving boomers and seniors money. This new bundled solution is on display today through January 9 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas at Ooma’s booth, South Hall #31628 and at Clarity’s booth, South Hall #31123.

The award-winning Ooma Telo VoIP device now fully supports ClarityLogic 1.0, a first-of-its-kind service from Clarity that allows remote access for customer service agents to optimize Clarity phones uniquely for customers. When used together with Ooma, customers can enjoy added cost-savings by eliminating expensive monthly phone bills with free U.S. local and long distance calling, crystal-clear voice quality, in addition to 911 service, call waiting, caller ID, and voicemail.

“The Ooma Telo is the only VoIP solution tested and certified to work with Clarity amplified phones and its innovative ClarityLogic feature,” said Eric Stang, Chief Executive Officer at Ooma. “By bringing together unique technologies such as Ooma PureVoice™ HD and ClarityLogic, we are able to deliver the highest quality calling experience for boomers and seniors without an expensive monthly phone bill.”

“Pairing our amplified telephones and innovative services like ClarityLogic with OOMA’s VoIP solution is a win-win for customers,” said Carsten Trads, President of Clarity, a division of Plantronics. “It allows seniors and boomers to use the most advanced amplified phones on the market while also saving money on monthly phone bills thanks to Ooma’s VoIP solution. We believe this strategic partnership will greatly benefit our customers now and well into the future.”

Clarity offers a variety of corded and cordless amplified telephones designed to help people with hearing loss and other age-related health challenges, such as low vision, limited mobility, memory loss and arthritis. All Clarity amplified phones work with Ooma Telo VoIP solution.

Clarity offers three new products, the Clarity XL40D and Clarity XL45 and the ClarityXL50, that feature ClarityLogic, a new patented, first-of-its-kind technology that enables customer service reps to remotely access and optimize Clarity amplified phones for the end-user. A dramatic leap forward in customer service, users simply press the ClarityLogic button to connect with a customer service representative who can quickly gain access to their phone and personalize settings for them. From customizing the speed dial to adjusting the amplification or programming the phonebook, ClarityLogic offers support and peace of mind without having to ask friends and family for assistance.
